Local Celebrations of Holiday Traditions Past

The Christmas Holiday Season is here. A wonderful time of the year for sure, and with so much to do and see. This time of the year I think it’s nice to spend a day indulged in holiday traditions of the past. The heritage of Christmas and the holiday season, if you will. Some local attractions are uniquely qualified to this task since they celebrate the heritage of the North Texas region all year. Here are a few examples of regional holiday events that I am aware of around the Dallas and Fort Worth area.

Caroling Through Penn Farm at Cedar Hill State Park

Take a lantern-lit tour of Penn Farm. As we explore this historic farm, you will hear stories of the Penn family and their pioneering spirit. Learn what life on the farm was like for this family as they farmed and raised livestock for over a century. The tour will wrap up with a Christmas carol sing-a-long around the campfire while enjoying hot chocolate, hot apple cider, cookies and other holiday treats.

Meet at the Penn Farm parking lot at 6:30 PM. Location is stroller and wheelchair accessible. Wear warm clothes and bring your lantern or flashlight.
6:30p to 8:00p Sat, December 12, 2015
