The truth is that the Hammonds ran the business from 1966 until 1997. In 1997 Hammond's BBQ was sold to Darrell Caldwell. The business has been operated since then by Darrell and his relatives. Information on the history of the business is available at www.hammondsbbq.com. I thank Mr. Hammond for setting me straight. I have corrected the article.
